Qcells is a name many would be familiar with in relation to solar panels, and the company also manufacturers home batteries.

Qcells' Q.HOME is an all-in-one battery system; meaning it combines a battery and integrated hybrid inverter within the unit. Q.HOME is scalable from 4kW to 12 kWh and is based on Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry, widely regarded as the safest Li-ion technology. This energy storage solution has a natural cooling system allowing silent operation, a power output of 4.6kW and offers backup functionality.

Something in the Q.HOME's favour is the company that makes it - Qcells has been around for a long time and has a presence here in Australia. That's reassuring for any potential warranty claims. Just on warranty, Qcells provides a 10-year warranty on the Q.HOME. 

The original Q.HOME was followed by the Q.HOME+. Then in In February 2022, Qcells announced a 15 year product and performance warranty for its new Q.HOME CORE battery system that subsequently launched in 2022.

The Q.HOME CORE energy storage solution is comprised of two units, the modular Q.SAVE battery the Q.VOLT inverter. The Q.SAVE battery has 6.86kWh storage capacity, which is expandable to up to three units for maximum 20.5kWh capacity. With the Q.HOME CORE, the lithium chemistry has changed to Lithium Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminium Oxide (NCA). The manufacturer of the cells is Samsung.
